1. Information We Collect

Email Address

When you subscribe to our newsletter or request a free download, we collect your email address. This is the primary personal information we collect. We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to manage our email list and send communications.

Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous information about how visitors use our website. This includes: pages visited, time spent on pages, referral sources, device type, and general geographic location (country/state level). We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, our server logs collect IP addresses, browser type, and referring URLs when you visit. This data is used for security and technical troubleshooting and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Email address: To send you the free downloads you requested and our newsletter with gun law updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Analytics data: To understand which content is most useful, improve site performance, and prioritize content creation.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not rent or trade your email address.

3. Email Marketing (Brevo)

Our email marketing is managed by Brevo. When you subscribe, your email address is stored in Brevo's systems. Brevo is GDPR compliant and CAN-SPAM compliant. You can view Brevo's privacy policy at brevo.com.

We use source tags to track which page you subscribed from (homepage, state page, blog post) to send relevant content. We may use this to send state-specific law updates if you subscribed from a state page.

Unsubscribe: Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately removes you from our list. You may also email us to request removal.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

Google Analytics collects anonymized data about site usage. Google Analytics does not identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We have configured GA4 to anonymize IP addresses and not collect personally identifiable information.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors. Brevo may set cookies to track email link clicks. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond these essential functions.

6. Data Retention

Email subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention periods (14 months for user-level data). Server logs are typically retained for 90 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Unsubscribe from email communications at any time
  • Opt out of analytics tracking

To exercise these rights, contact us through the About page.

8. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact us for removal.
